We host your budget. We cannot read it.

Everything is encrypted on your device before it is sent. Our servers only ever store unreadable bytes — unreadable to us, to an employee, to anyone who gets hold of the database.

Real columns of the `encrypted_records` table. The key is derived from your passphrase, on your device — the server never receives it. That is also why we cannot recover it for you.

What it costs

Two things we give up on purpose.

No bank connection.

You enter your expenses, or import a CSV. That is more work than an aggregator — and it is the only way to have nothing to read.

Lose your passphrase and nobody can give it back.

Not even us. A recovery key is offered at sign-up: it is your only safety net, and it stays on your side.

The method

Every euro gets a job.

Envelope budgeting: you share out the money you actually have, until nothing is left to assign. No forecast, no average — only the money that exists.

  1. Assign what comes in, down to zero.
  2. Spend from an envelope, never from a total.
  3. Overspent? Move the money, and see it.

How it works

Free today, and no surprise tomorrow

Every feature, no credit card. Arca will become paid one day — you will be told well in advance, and nothing is ever charged without your explicit order.
