Is the beta really free?
Yes. Every feature, for the whole beta, and we never ask for payment details. There is no trial running in the background and no hidden countdown.
Will Arca stay free?
No — Arca will become paid one day. Hosting encrypted sync costs money, and we would rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise. What we commit to is the way it happens: at least 60 days’ notice, by email, with the exact price.
What happens the day it becomes paid?
Nothing automatic. To become a subscriber you will have to place an order yourself, knowingly. If you do nothing, you are not charged: your budget simply becomes view-only — you can still browse and export it.
Is my data deleted if I don’t subscribe?
No. It stays there, readable and exportable. Any eventual deletion would be announced well in advance, with several reminders, and export stays available throughout.
Is it really encrypted?
Yes, end-to-end. Your data is encrypted in your browser; the server only stores unreadable blobs. Nobody else — not even us — can read it. The flip side is real: if you lose your passphrase and your recovery key, nobody can recover your data, us included.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. Arca runs in your browser, on a computer as well as on a phone. Native apps are planned, but we would rather not promise them before they exist.
It is a beta — should I worry?
Be sensible: a beta can have bugs. Export your budget from time to time, and above all keep your recovery key somewhere safe. And do tell us what breaks — that is exactly what a beta is for.
